Inventor’s Workshop
In this fun and exciting camp, teachers will propose a “problem” and children will have to invent a “solution” using their creativity and craft materials given in class. Their inventions will encourage problem-solving skills while they are exposed to new vocabulary and sentence structures, and are encouraged to use the language they are learning to describe their inventions.
Great Inventors of the Past – Many everyday things we use today, we owe to great inventors of the past. From telephones to airplanes, children will uncover new vocabulary while learning about fathers of innovation such as Alexander Graham Bell or The Wright Brothers.
Bright Ideas of the Future – There are many modern inventions that have changed our lives, that we just can’t live without. While learning a new language, children will hear about Steve Jobs, creator of the iPhone, and be inspired to come up with their own inventions for the future.
Linguist Apprentices (Ages 3-5) – Through music and play, campers will develop their conversational skills in a second language. Children will engage in arts and crafts and hands-on projects while learning another language.
Language Ambassadors (Ages 6-10) – Campers will participate in project-based learning activities that will help them connect the foreign language they are learning to meaning, providing them the opportunity to develop their conversational skills while learning about fun and interesting topics.
