Get your paintbrushes out! In this amazing and creative week, campers will learn about the famous French modern artist, Henri Matisse! He fell in love with art at a young age, and campers will learn vocabulary having to do with everything from colors to shapes– and learn about his life– all while learning a new language!

Les Animaux – One fun fact about Henri Matisse is that he was an avid animal lover! Campers will learn about the different animals in his life. He had various pets and even showed them in his artwork! Campers will learn to say animals in French and share their own animal experiences!

La Danse is one of Matisse’s most famous works of art. Children will learn about this influential piece while picking up new vocabulary and sentence structures.

Linguist Apprentices (Ages 3-5) – Through music and play, campers will develop their conversational skills in a second language. Children will engage in arts and crafts and hands-on projects while learning another language.

Language Ambassadors (Ages 6-10) – Campers will participate in project-based learning activities that will help them connect the foreign language to meaning, providing them the opportunity to develop their conversational skills while learning about fun and interesting topics.
