Arctic World
Children will be inspired with a love for nature with this fun thematic unit!
This week children will develop vocabulary and conversational skills in another language as they learn about the Arctic and its wildlife. Campers will learn to describe the Arctic climate, life in the Arctic, and some of the animals that inhabit the Arctic, such as the snow leopard, Arctic fox, polar bears, seals, moose, and much more.
Campers will also learn about Arctic indigenous peoples, such as the Inuit and Saami, and will learn why some people have many words to describe snow.
Linguist Apprentices (Ages 3-5) – Through music and play, campers will develop their conversational skills in a second language. Children will engage in arts and crafts and hands-on projects while learning another language.
Language Ambassadors (Ages 6-10) – Campers will participate in project-based learning activities that will help them connect the foreign language to meaning, providing them the opportunity to develop their conversational skills while learning about fun and interesting topics.
