Campers will immerse themselves in the rich histories, diverse cultures, traditional cuisine, and festive carnivals of these tropical islands, all while enhancing their French language skills.

Discovering the Francophone Caribbean: Each day, our young explorers will embark on a new adventure to a different Francophone island, such as Martinique, Guadeloupe, or Saint Martin. They’ll learn about each island’s unique heritage, geography, and the fusion of cultures that create the vibrant Caribbean tapestry.

French Language Immersion Through Island Cultures: As campers engage with the distinct features of each island, they will naturally learn and practice French. Our activities are designed to introduce French vocabulary and phrases related to Caribbean culture, geography, and daily life. This immersive approach makes learning French an exciting and relevant part of their cultural exploration.

Exploring Caribbean Cuisine and Traditions: While we won’t be cooking, campers will delve into the rich culinary traditions of the Francophone Caribbean. They’ll learn about popular dishes like accras (cod fritters), bokit (fried bread sandwiches), and sweet treats like coconut sorbet, understanding the stories and cultural significance behind these beloved foods.

Interactive Activities and Carnival Celebrations: “Caribbean Carnival” is filled with interactive and educational activities. Campers might participate in a simulated carnival, complete with DIY colorful masks, costumes, and dance. They’ll learn about traditional music styles like Zouk and Calypso and the role of these festivals in island culture.

Learning About Natural Wonders and Marine Life: The Francophone Caribbean is known for its breathtaking natural beauty. Campers will learn about the lush rainforests, active volcanoes, and diverse marine life that make these islands unique, fostering an appreciation for environmental diversity and conservation.
