Under the Sea

 

Regular Immersion Session

Your child is invited to enjoy an incredible adventure learning the vast wonders of the sea while learning a second language!  Our campers will discover different sea creatures while participating in fun projects, and will have a blast while learning another language!

Linguist Apprentices (Ages 3-5) – Through music and play, campers will develop their conversational skills in a second language. Children will engage in arts and crafts and hands-on projects while learning another language.

Language Ambassadors (Ages 6-10) – Campers will participate in project-based learning activities that will help them connect the foreign language they are learning to meaning, providing them the opportunity to develop their conversational skills while learning about fun and interesting topics.

 

Early Immersion Session

(Optional session – available only at some locations)

Supplemental thematic unit: Row, Row Your Boat – Campers will learn all about different transportation vessels for the waters, ranging from rowboats to cruise ships, and submarines — all while developing a vocabulary in a second language.  

 Linguist Apprentices (Ages 3-5) – Campers will work on phonetic skills development in small groups, using rhymes and rhythm to further develop their conversational skills.

Language Ambassadors (Ages 6-10) – Campers will use this time to work in small groups to develop reading and writing skills in the target language and practice their conversational skills by talking about the stories they are reading and writing in the second language.

 Afternoon Immersion Session

(Optional session – available only at some locations)

Supplemental thematic unit: Mermaids and Pirates – While learning another language, campers will learn about mythological mermaids and pirates who ruled the open seas, while engaging in many hands-on arts and crafts activities and games.

Linguist Apprentices (Ages 3-5) – Campers will work on phonetic skills development in small groups, using rhymes and rhythm to further develop their conversational skills.

Language Ambassadors (Ages 6-10) – Campers will use this time to work in small groups to develop reading and writing skills in the target language and practice their conversational skills by talking about the stories they are reading and writing in the second language.
